It was a warm summer night of '97..We were living in a small Suburb just in the outskirts of the city.The colony was scarcely populated and it looked like it was just another night, till this happened...
Usually, all of my family members used to sleep in the same room.My dad sleeps on the bed and all others sleep on the floor, as it was cooler than the other beds in the house.Dad had a habit of covering himself with a blanket from head to toe, no matter what the season was..On that night, he suddenly felt something scampering over his head and quickly going towards his feet.
Dad, a bit scared, assumed that it was a snake and the next thing that came to his
mind was to avoid the creature from reaching us.He thought of capturing the creature in the blanket, by quickly covering it within the blanket,and did exactly the same, jumping on to his feet.In the process, he not only wanted to warn us about something, by shouting in some incomprehesible language, but also stomped on my Sister's feet, who was sleeping on the floor just beside the bed.My sister, obviously shocked, shouted on top of her voice expressing a mix of emotions ranging from agony, apprehesion to panic...
Hearing the sudden pandemonium, I woke up from my sleep, and as with the case of many other guys, i wanted to assure everybody, that everything was under control and there is nothing to worry, even though i had absolutely no idea of what was happening. But what i actually did, was to shout louder than my dad and sis, resulting in total chaos in the room.
In the meanwhile, my mom, the bravest of us all, took my brother away from us, and watched us in utter disbelief and horror...
When sanity returned, we tried to figure out what has happened, that triggered such a furore.It was when we saw this little mouse , seemingly scared, witnessing all the uproar, with the
innocense of a new born, from the corner of the room....
